Three Italian guys formed a band called Waines. It all has to do with pizza’s, but when thinking of Italians there comes this certain, player charming attitude in mind. “Stu” is the latest release of the band.
Swinging, sexy, challenging blues rock with an experimental edge. Never expected this to come out of a blues rock act, but you can taste the Italian touch in it clearly. The album never gets drastically slow or boring, the men have got their temperament perfectly translated in the music. A party vibe, a good afternoon, early evening out is what you can give out of hands to these guys. Song titles like “Flow River Flow”, “Have You Heard The News” and “Ready To Taxi” may not always give you the right image of what to expect, but on the other hand it directs you into that indie rock silliness of which this band also got a little taste. So for a good summer evening experience you take Waines with you, some little advice for those who are lighthearted, the animal printed on the inside of the artwork has that vicious, evil eye looking at you so you better take the cd out of it quickly and let it get stuck in your player. The perfect excuse to listen to it some more and not putting it back in your collection.
