Sexydeath is an electro project by Alex Frejrud originally founded in Sweden. After a long wait the follow-up to “Unbruja” is finally available and is called “The Funeral Reserve”.
If you own “Unbruja”, half of “The Funeral Reserve” won’t be too new for you. Songs like “Noise In The Dark”, “Beautiful Disaster”, “Sin So Dirty” and others have been on “Unbruja” already. But since these songs are all amazing it is a great re-release ear-candy for all of us. The latest single of “The Funeral Reserve” is “Morbid Mirror”. Sexydeath’s music is very electric and danceable. When listening to the lyrics for the first time they might seem a little obscene or even morbid. But if you give it a closer listen you will find deep thoughts that were put into each piece of art. The artwork of the booklet is amazing as well. Awesome pictures of band members and others on one side and lyrics to some of the songs on the other side. The layout is held in black and white. This strengthens the whole album theme. The sound of “The Funeral Reserve” is amazing, somehow dark and evil sounding. But then again you feel somehow protected, maybe it is Alex’s voice in the songs, maybe it is something else. “The Funeral Reserve” designs a very own world around you when listening to it. This album is not only music, but it is a mind experience you should not miss out on. Sexydeath made it again and created a masterpiece. I can’t wait for the next one to come.
