Myronath – Into The Qlipoth

Label: Non Serviam Records
Releasedate: 04-10-2019

Myronath is a Swedish black metal act, featuring Lars Broddesson (ex-Marduk) as session studio and live drummer, as well as vocalist/bassist Vargblod (Khaospath, Draugul) and guitarist Malphas (Throne of Heresy, Blood of Serpents). The formation started as a 2-man project in 2019 but eventually got more serious and so the full-length “Into The Qlipoth” is born!

“Into The Qlipoth” shows the ambition and vision of this band; it is all about strong and dark vocals from the heart combined with dynamic drumming and riffs that will stay in your head. Soundwise, the band delivers the sinister mix of the classic black metal sound with a bit of atmospheric and post-metal elements. However, the pace and the overall vibe is rather dynamic and fast so this is not an atmospheric BM record in the conventional sense; the songs have the direct and straightforward approach which has the potential to work very well live.

Since we are talking about a newcomer act here, it is worth mentioning that there is a big room for improvement. There is a bit of everything included in the band’s style, which makes this debut quite interesting. However, I would love to see the band developing their sound and vision and so I am curious in which direction they will go to; the atmospheric or the straightforward one? Considering the diversity of the black metal scene nowadays (which is rather controversial), I recommend you black metal fans keep an eye on Myronath and give this release a try.
