IZZ – Don’t Panic

Label: Doone Records
Releasedate:
2019

Progrock formation IZZ is back with a new release. It is called “Don’t Panic” and it is available now.

If you have heard any music by IZZ before then you know what to expect. Progressive Rock brought in an approachable package without losing any comprehensive moments. Also on “Don’t Panic” the band knows perfectly how to bring in the balance.
On this album they seem to seek reassurance a bit, textual mainly. But the title says it all, some of that will come. Instrumentally the band is solid as a rock, like always. Playfully they bring the riffs to you, quite light. One can enjoy it easily and yet it gives you enough to keep listening. It just makes you want to spin the record again.
In “Moment of Inertia” the band brings in some piano which gives it exactly that extra stress on drama in it.

We don’t really find anything that we dislike on this release. Izz gave us with “Don’t Panic” an album that is exactly right. It addresses a wide range of listeners. From people who like the jazz compositions towards the more pop kind of listener who loves to dream away with these vocals. Well done!
