Julian Taylor is a songwriter that mixes some soul, funk and groovy music together. Based in Canada the act is now releasing full length album number three. It is called “Avalanche” and it is available now.
On “Avalanche” we are presented some songs that you easily listen to, but carry a bit more depth that one may think at first. For a critical listener this album is one to enjoy. The bluesy touch f the release can swing one’s emotions with it back and forth. Take for example the title track “Avalanche” it sounds so familiar, so calm and serene, but take a bit longer to it and it drags you along. Then straight after that you get “Sweeter” which is more up-tempo and has that swinging oomph to it. Right after that the dramatic “Learn To Love” comes along, which sometimes a bit hysterical.
“Avalanche” is a varied album and serves you well if you are into albums that need some time to gow on you. Sure you can get it once, but the album has much more to offer and deserves some more spins for the optimal result. One you can enjoy for quite a while so to say.
