Killswitch Engage is an American metalcore band from Westfield, Massachusetts, formed in 1999 after the disbanding of Overcast and Aftershock. Killswitch Engage’s current lineup consists of vocalist Jesse Leach, guitarists Joel Stroetzel and Adam Dutkiewicz, bassist Mike D’Antonio, and drummer Justin Foley. The band has released seven studio albums and two live performance albums. This is their eighth studio album and it is called “Atonement”.

“Atonement” comes with eleven songs. Each one is strong and is kicking ass. Fast and thriving rhythms are pushing you through while the melodies will get you going along. Shouted vocals take turns with clean vocals. The album includes quite some rough songs with fast – almost hectic – arrangements, that will cause your adrenaline level to rise. Those songs include mostly shouted vocals. But “Atonement” also includes songs to catch your breath. Slower and calmer songs with mainly clean vocals and melodies to get stuck in your head. Some songs are calmer than others. The balance between rough arrangements and more melodic tunes is perfect. “Atonement” will keep your attention till the end.
