Slipknot is an American heavy metal band from Des Moines, Iowa. The band was founded in 1995 by percussionist Shawn Crahan, drummer Joey Jordison and bassist Paul Gray. After several lineup changes in its early years, the band settled on nine members for more than a decade. This is their sixth full length studio album and is called “We Are Not Your Kind”.

“We Are Not Your Kind” comes with fourteen tracks of which one is an intro (“Insert Coin”) and one is an interlude (“Death Because Of Death”). All songs are intense in arrangements, lyrics and vocals. While the songs vary in pace and intensity of the drums and riffs, all lyrics are straightforward and each song is delivering a message that is unmistakable. Slipknot seems to use more clean vocals instead of shouted vocals than they did on previous releases. But “We Are Not Your Kind” still carries the usual Slipknot sound  you all love so much. The album gets darker towards the end, while the vocals get less. Slipknot lets their music speak for itself on some tracks. The album creates its very own mood and world, painting pictures in your mind, telling stories. 

“We Are Not Your Kind” is nothing less than impressive and breathtaking. The sound is so complete and the arrangements are so fascinating, it will not go by unnoticed and without touching you.
