Label: Universal Music, Artist Den
Release date: 26.07.2019
Today we have something special for you. A release that will not only honor the late Chris Cornell but also will please all Soundgarden fans out there. This is a special live recording from February 2013 at Los Angeles. The album as well as the show is called “Live At The Artist Den”.
Soundgarden was an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1984 by singer and rhythm guitarist Chris Cornell, lead guitarist Kim Thayil, and bassist Hiro Yamamoto. The band dissolved in 1997 and re-formed in 2010. Following Cornell’s suicide in 2017 and a year of uncertainty of the band’s future, Thayil declared in an October 2018 interview with Seattle Times that they would not continue as Soundgarden; they did, however, reunite in January 2019 for a one-off concert in tribute to Cornell.
On “Live At The Artist Den” Soundgarden mixed new songs with classic radio hits and rarities performed live for the first time, in front of a rapturous crowd. The concert has become the most requested Soundgarden show to be released of all-time. So here it is as a record. The show itself lasted for well over two hours. You can not only hear the crowd go crazy, you can also feel the crowd, smell the sweat in the venue and see Soundgarden perform in front of your inner eye. “Live At The Artist Den” is an impressive live recording. It captured the spirit of the band on stage and sinks it deep underneath your skin. The impressive voice of Chris Cornell adds the final touch and maybe even adds some goosebumps onto your skin.
With more than two hours filled with radio hits, rare Soundgarden songs, an amazing and wild crowd, an impressive voice and a brilliant band, “Live At The Artist Den” will take a while for you to digest and definitely leaves behind a void. The rich sound is filling every inch around you and rips a hole once it ceased. So keep the music going and keep Chris singing. “Live At The Artist Den” is out now. Get your copy.
