Rebentisch is a musician from Berlin. 1999 he recorded his first demo. In 2002 the project Rebentisch came to existence. “Unter Der Stadt” is the seventh release of the duo. On the minimal electronics base frame recalling KRAFTWERK, REBENTISCH build a relaxed modern trip-hop reminiscence à la MASSIVE ATTACK, which they mix with the pop attitude of WELLE: ERDBALL and the sex appeal of AND ONE to finally create their own interpretation of New Wave, in addition to the analog sounds, flickering guitar chords and NEW ORDER-like bass runs.

More than half of the songs on the album are remixes. The lyrics are all in German. The poetry you can find in the songs are a little morbid and sad. Somehow the vocals are not attached to the music, both lines seem to exist apart from each other, which makes the music even more interesting. Rebentisch created danceable electro music with great poetry and interesting arrangements. If you like electro and poetry you should definitely check this album out. “Unter Der Stadt” is a very interesting piece of art with eleven individual parts by the Berlin duo. Rebentisch is a very great artist, you should definitely give it a try.
