Mundtot is a German trio from Munich. Their musical roots lie somewhere between Post Punk and New Wave, and that is also what their music sounds like. Now they released their debut CD, the EP “Endzeit” with seven tracks.
All songs on this CD are in German, but to understand what they say you only need to let the music get you. Very outstanding on these seven tracks is the guitar sound. I think the guys somehow put the main focus on that instead of electro beats or anything else. Rough and harsh does the intro as well as the first song “Endzeit” come at you. Mundtot created catchy music which is dark in the main parts but bright on the melodies, a sort of oxymoron it itself. Somehow this music reminds of Zeraphine and Dreadful Shadows by all means, especially in the depth of the sound and lyrics. This comparison pretty much tells you how professional and interesting they sound. For their first EP Mundtot did a brilliant job and I am definitely looking forward to their next release. Maybe we also get to see them at some festivals this summer. Keep your eyed and ears open, Mundtot is coming.
