Kiuas is a Finnish Formation making Heavy Metal. Their latest release sees now and “Lustdriven” is its name.
The Finns bring something you typically find in Finnish acts. A lot of heaviness combined with these elements that make it accessible. Melodies and keys arte the pride of Kiuas. A song like “Lights Are Many” is one that easily could sneak up the (Finnish) charts for this, but is as well a typical heart pleaser. Straight after this song, the band chooses to take it up and go faster and heavier. Arrangements the band have used make the album a bit spacey, maybe a little too much. It could have been a science fiction movie at some points. It is very thinkable though, the band will bring an interesting live experience when seen live at a summer festival.
The riff work in this music reigns with sagacity, well placed and well thought. The instruments in general sound balanced, never being in a fight for dominance rather taking the time to extend each other.
Kiuas brought an album to the world that listens pleasantly, is somehow catchy and seems just all right on a little taste sensible elements excluded. One worth its money for sure and After listening you just want to see this live on the next festival.
