Les Discrets were created in 2003 by illustrator Fursy Teyssier. They’re mainly known to have released a split album with compatriots Alcest in 2009 which functioned as a kind of sneak peek of their first own full length, Septembre et Ses Dernières Pensées.
Septembre et Ses Dernières Pensées is the fruit of an intimate confession and careful consideration on Fursy Teyssier’ s life seen through his own eyes, gathered in ten songs composed from 2003 to 2009. He personally supervised both the visual and the sounding aspect of the album, making it all focus on the same concept: the relation between mankind and nature, seen in a very romantic way. All of these aspects, from the artwork to the lyrics, are completed one by the other to create an enchanting amalgam. Already the artwork looks whopping dark, and so will the music which swings from Metal, Shoegaze and Dark Ambient, without laying on anyone of these genres. On this background are put Teyssier vocals, very gloomy and frequently played along with Audrey Hadorn ones on the most melodic parts of the album. In the end, Septembre et Ses Dernières Pensées is a whacking evocative album that taken as a whole, stands a chance to easily blow you away.
