Vera Jonas is an Hongarian singer who mixes a diversity of genres. The album “Tiger, Now!”gets rereleased so it is now available to a wider audience.
The album shows a diverse Vera. “Find Your Keys” is a track that is easy to listen to and quite calm where in other tracks she picks up a more rockier attitude. She uses experiment in the name of this project and that this applies to this album is a sure thing. The songs are a bit here and there and you sometimes need to look a bit further to see why they were placed together on one album. It does not really make it very easy to put the finger on it: who is that Vera Jonas?
With some skilled musicians around here she does know how to create nice soundscapes. Often taking the time to get to the core of a song, not going to direct but there is not really a moment that sparks you too much. Would that tiger come out eventually, maybe live? We can only hope so. For Beatles fans there is some nice cover to find, but looking for that song that makes you mark her name into your memory is simply not coming around. Just fine.
