Denied is a Swedish act coming from Stockholm. In 2009 they got their current singer to join in the lineup and they released their demo “Chapter III”.
Denied makes melodic metal, surprisingly with vocals that are stereotypical heavy metal. The combination that this band brings is therefore not the most common seen. The guitars are giving a not too wild attitude, but space for the vocals to become an important factor in the music. The typical heavy metal vocals somehow bring you in confusion for the first time, it takes a bit to get used to it, but it ain’t a bad choice. These vocals have the power and in combination with some riffing in between the music sets a solid wall.
The promo counts three songs that are in good line with each other. I was hoping for that easy to catch chorus in any song that you pick up from the first time you listen, but that one was not here. Such songs are the ones you are waiting to hear when seeing the band live, being an invitation to the show. In a release with more songs this might be a must, so it challenges people to see that live show that they tell us to be so promising.
