I guess you could call the night a German Rock night or how Germans call it a Deutsch Rock” night. Aschaffenburg’s Colossaal was the place to rock tonight. The bands playing were Übergas and Wirtz. The venue was very crowded as we arrived. It wasn’t sold out but definitely close to it. Many of the people in the audience wore Wirtz merchandise. This was the second leg of the tour. And here we were rocking along again, just like we did in Frankfurt last year.

It was great to see how many people were all into Wirtz, wearing the merch and knowing all albums, lyrics and so on. First band was Übergas. They entered the stage at 8pm. Übergas was a German rock band, singing in German. Rough and ass kicking the guys performed for about 30 minutes. The guys rocked the stage. Everybody in the crowded Colossaal rocked along. Most of them had already seen Übergas as opener of the last leg of the Daniel Wirtz tour. The singer talked to the audience quite a lot. Many people could actually sing along. The singer was walking up and down the stage, performing and singing to the audience.

As Daniel Wirtz came on stage everybody in the audience was going wild. The cheering seemed to be endlessly long. The band was overwhelmed by the feedback. As they began playing everybody danced along and sang along, sometimes as loud or even louder than the band. Energetic and powerful with a gorgeous sound Wirtz and band performed for about two hours. You could see that the band was totally happy to play. It was an amazing show. Very emotional and touching and perfect light we all watched the show that met everybody’s expectations and went even beyond. Daniel played about every song of both albums he has released so far, all in German. The atmosphere in the venue was a very familiar one, many people knew each other already anyway from previous Wirtz shows or even still from all the Sub7even shows where Daniel was the singer. For some songs Daniel played guitar, sometimes even acoustic. The guys talked a lot with the audience and always received a nice feedback. After the two hours of show time the audience called the band back for more. And they came back, twice. It was an awesome show. Wirtz is definitely one of the best live artists, you should definitely go check them out.
