Atrexial – Souverain

[schema type=”review” name=”Atrexial – Souverain” description=”Label: Godz ov War Productions” author=”Sabine van Gameren” pubdate=”2017-04-30″ ]Atrexial is a Spanish formation making Death metal. The band released their debut album “Souverain” earlier this year.

So not too much was known about these guys, so getting into it rather blanco. Never stays blanco long for the blackened Death of these guys is coming with a brutality that sneaks up to you. After an intro the band fast gets to your mind. The band may be new, but the musicians must have a record of state in some sort of way as this album is well thought and well constructed. The guys are convinced of what they wanted, that you can clearly hear back in the sound. The instrumentals rage on, technically not much wrong with. Here and there maybe a bit more innovation would worked, but overall the guys bring it convincing enough. It is their frontman Louen that makes the whole complete though. His vocals are putting a stamp on it in a more remarkable way that you would guess at the first listen. But you will repeat and learn about this fast enough.
Then when they throw in some riffs that are there drawing the attention, you know. This album is going to be heard a lot more than I would have thought!

“Souverain” came in silence, leaves us with enthusiasm and curiosity. Let’s bring these guys onto the road, anyone?!
