[schema type=”review” name=”The Nights – The Nights” description=”Label: Frontiers Records” author=”Sabine van Gameren” pubdate=”2017-09-01″ ]Finnish band The Nights has recently been questioned by us, now let’s see what we think of their debut album.
That the whole is a bit Bon Jovi driven is what we learned from vocalist Sami already. Can’t deny that, the album is fulled of love and love and “Nothing but Love”. But, for the Helsinki locals this band has perhaps some other references. Not that the music is too alike, but the playful way of bringing us reminded to the teenage favorites of many: Private Line. Luckily, these guys of The Night seem to take it all a bit more serious, focus more on the guitars, the melodies and the atmospherical side of the music rather than the ‘look I am a superstar’ menthality.
Songs like “Elegy (You Should Be Here)”, “I Wanna Be Your Superhero” or “Juliette” are catchy, and would easily end up in the charts but they are in good line with the others. Yet, the album is varied enough to refrain from it becoming a bit too cheesy.
So to say, this is an album that listens easily. It puts a smile on your face and maybe sing along even. We all can appreciate a bit of love in our life, so with The Nights you re well off!
