My Flea Circus is a band from Canada making raw rock music with different influences. The band released “Flee Flaa Floo” at the end of 2009, which is their second full length release.
The band My Flea Circus is a Canadian trio that finds influences in different sorts of music. It has the heaviness of stoner rock, the vocals could have been coming from a punk band a la Vice Squad, some heavy riffing every once and a while bring a slight hint to Thrash. The atmosphere is dark, but not hopeless. The band has some interesting song titles breathing this. “Another Way To Kill a Ghost”, “All That Leaves You Loves You”, it ain’t that bad. The album had started with quite some power and it is somehow a bit sad to feel the energy ticking back a bit in the upcoming songs to get up later again. An interesting approach, but a different song order wouldn’t have left you with a disappointed mood when you have put your head to what has came first from the album. Nevertheless the band keeps getting attention by their unique combination of elements. It’s not like one of the many bands that are around nowadays and that speaks for them. My Flea Circus is an interesting band, that besides on your to-buy-list also belongs on your want-to-see-live-list. Highlighted.
