Dead by April is a Swedish Metalcore band from Gothenburg, formed in February 2007 by Pontus Hjelm and Jimmie Strimell. The current band lineup consists of Hjelm (vocals/guitar/keys), Christoffer “Stoffe” Andersson (screamed vocals), Marcus Wesslén (bass) and Marcus Rosell (drums). They released their self-titled debut album in May 2009. Despite many line up changes throughout their career, both bassist Marcus Wesslén and lead guitarist/current clean vocalist Pontus Hjelm have remained consistent since their debut album.
Now the band has a brand new album out. “Worlds Collide” is the name of that album. It comes with eleven songs. The music on this album includes a great mix of electronic elements, metal and rock. All combined into a perfect unison. The songs are catchy and will get you going along. The melodies are catchy and will get stuck in your head. Each song has a chorus that is perfect to sing or shout along to. Speaking of shouting: The vocals are taking turns in being sung cleanly and shouted.
“Worlds Collide” is an amazing album that will last on your playlist for quite a while. Dead By April sure know how to rock and how to pull you along with their music. Check out this brand new album by the Swedes!
