[schema type=”review” name=”Eye – Vision And Ageless Light” description=”Label: The Laser’s Edge” author=”Sabine van Gameren” pubdate=”2016-11-18″ ]Eye is a Progressive Rock formation and the band has been around for some years. In 2016 they were releasing already their fourth album. It is called “Vision And Ageless Light”.
Eye is a band that does not hold back on their sound, using a whole lot of instruments they can create a diverse sound and it seems that a whole lot is happening at the same time. This does not always make it very approachable, one must get really into the sound to feel it all and it demands a lot from the listener to gain the full experience out of it. Yet, the album has so many amazing elements. The atmosphere they are simply messing around when they like to, a great set of instrumental pieces, individually beautiful as well as coming together, it’s a wild but well thought mess that seems so organized in a strange way. The surprise that is lurking around the corner is an important factor as well, the album ever becomes predictable and that is exactly why you keep listening.
Coming to the last track you are in for the longest sit, almost half an hour makes this song a release of it’s own and conclude all thoughts we had on them before.
“Vision And Ageless Light” is a fine investment, you’ll spend quite some time enjoying this album and discover more with each spin.
