The Finnish band The Final Harvest released their album “The End” in October. It is their first full length album.
The band formed in 2007, having a line-up around Tuomas Saukkonen ‘King of the Drums’ known from bands like Before the Dawn, Black Sun Aeon, Dawn of Solace and more. Tuomas wrote most of the lyrics to the songs and arranged the music. Expect some Death metal metal a la the Finnish style, melodic and full with well thought moments of Thrash influence. It is not the most original formation by Tuomas, this is something that can be heard plenty, but nevertheless the band delivers quality music. Riffs are well placed, in total harmony with the drum work which we can fully trust to the man who gained his nickname by his excellent work in recorded music as well as live performances in which he sits at his drum like a king ruling the world. Occasionally there are some effects in the music that make you frown, but that keeps it all interesting and makes that The Final Harvest does not disappear in the sea of similar bands. The album ends (excl the bonus songs) quite sepulchral with a semblance of honor to the atmosphere of Black Sun Aeon, which makes it an album that has some slight steps away from the standard.
