Bionic Ghost Kids is a project of two Germans from Berlin founded in 2004. “Horror Show” is their third album.
Taking a look at the layout and the comic that comes with it, you get an image of it being something like a gothic punk band. When pressing play you will be struck by electro music though. “Poison Ivy” somehow reminds me of Eiffel 69, whereas other songs remind of various other electro acts such as [:SITD:], Combichrist, Zeromancer and so on. As you can see, all very different styles of electro, and yes, that is all on one album. The female vocals leave a little bit of soft and touchy emotions in the harsh electro sounds of songs like “Save The Last Dance”. Somehow Bionic Ghost Kids are always proving you wrong with your expectations. This album is full of surprises and always different than you thought it would be. “Kill The Pain” includes a piano intro and rocking guitar riffs. “Delusion” also includes cello and violin besides piano and female vocals. It has a very dramatic sound
Bionic Ghost kids is an oxymoron in itself. “Horror Show” is a very interesting album, not only for electro fans.
