New York City has a Noise formation that listens to the name Pigs. This September they release the album “Wronger”.
Pigs has the rage going on. No mercy, it starts and it simply leaves no time go to waste. Listening the first time I remember the song “Bug Boy” jump out, because of the vocal featuring of Julie Christmas who has a voice that reminds a bit to Agnete Kjølsrud of Djerv. A remarkable voice that really adds to the atmosphere. But then back to the sound of the band self. Often the band seem to bring chaotic with a catchy moment within. Songs like “Amateur Hour in Dick City” are great exhibitions of that but, the band also does this on a smaller scale. Taking less expected instruments like a banjo up and have an introduction. A combination that seems a bit odd, but then not so odd as soon as you hear it. The ‘aha’ moment. Simply a lot to hear at this release.
“Wronger” is an album that sets itself apart from what many other do by their attention to detail. They make it varied and make that you want to listen that album again and some more to hear this little things and discover more.
