The Italian Thrash metal band Planar Evil releases their debut album “Mankind Way of Life”.
The band actually formed in 2000 already, but it took awhile before their debut full length got recorded. The band makes old school Thrash metal and as Italy is not the country that might get associated with Thrash too often, don’t hold back on Planar Evil. They strike back to the old school work and bring 12 songs full passion. Nothing new under the sun, but the riffs are edgy where drums are giving a nice back up. About the vocals there is nothing but positivity as the vocalist does not have a typical Italian accent as we hear quite often with Italian metal bands.
Any remarks? Yes there are. Who brought up the brilliant idea to put two tracks on the album named “Intro”? Can be confusing sometimes. Also the artwork does not really do much to me. Especially the cover. In the booklet itself are various photo’s of band moments, that do not mean anything to someone who does not have a history with the band. But well, in the end it is all about the music and that is quite ok, so it is to say Planar Evil might surprise us someday.
