Kensington Road – A Story From Somewhere In Between

Releasedate: ; Label: E-lane records (Neo/ Sony music)
By: Nina Mende

Kensington Road is a German alternative/ indie pop band founded by Stefan Tomek.

The album is slow and melodic, slightly melancholic. The lyrics are clear and deep, very personal and emotional as well. The songs are about love and lover’s grief, but not only. The style reminds of country music but not only. On “Satellite” you can find a somewhat outstanding bass-line.
The album reminds me of a band that split up years ago called Spacebrains. Kensington Road’s music is pure and human. There is nothing fake in their music. It feels like you can look right into their souls while listening to this album. It feels like the soundtrack to a time out of someone’s life.
The album and booklet are held as pure. There is not much extras. But it includes the lyrics. A nice and thoughtful album which is nice for long roads, to open your mind or just to chill and remember some times in your life.
