12-10-2012 Findustry Pori

Venue: Monttu, Pori (Finland)
By: Sabine van Gameren

Findustry is taking over Finland, this time it was Pori that got its portion of it.

At first The Physicists would play. Dressed in their white coats armed with Daisy Rock heart shaped guitar the band enters the stage and the stage seemed too small for them right away. The band steps in front of it which makes them instantly closer to the audience that remained a bit distant at first. The oddities forming the band’s image are entertaining to see in live and while the band is playing some tracks of their album “Observation” the music of the band seemed to make sense with the scene. “Oppenheimer” scants through the venue, the end of the set comes in sight leaving some of their audience with some question marks wondering was that all real what just did happen.

Cold Cold Ground was playing second this night, the band with the bunny as someone in the audience tells, is creating chaos into the place. Songs that can come from close to heart brought with a brutal and edgy crust. Heavy guitars bringing the music its strong backing while the vocals appear to be quite calm. Listen to the lyrics to get the story that comes with it, the intensity hits you on a higher level. Here in Pori they have a few dedicated fans that dance upfront during the entire set while others carefully watch it from a distance, somehow safe as the band here and there has a bit of an aggressive, raw style of performing. Recently the band released a new single, taken from their upcoming second album.

The Finnish band Iiwanajulma is bringing up intensity to the highest level here tonight, lyrics are in Finnish but while brought like the guys do it, you might feel the power of it come to you. According the band´s biography: “Disappointment without limits. Boredom. Self-destruction. Death and the fear of it. They rolled over us and violently penetrated each other.” Must give you quite an idea of what was going on. The show of tonight is very pure, while the band is working with the tensions to get you prepared for the explosions of power that are included in their sound. Their stagetime is late, some have left but those who were still around came to enjoy it all from upfront which showed their intensity worked out well at this show. The band is currently in studio to record their next album.
