More than 14 years it has been quiet around the Italian band Crown of Autumn. The band started in 1995 and in two years they came with their debut album. After that no releases until 2011. Their debut album gets re-released and a new release is out as well: “Splendours From The Dark”.
Crown of Autumn brings a melodic, yet dark Metal album that has some pagan influences. What stands out most is the way the band found to mix some of these older touches the band obviously took from their own past with some modern elements. An additional add of female vocals are quite interesting as well. It remains modest and leave the atmosphere with what it is. The band has some good riffs and the songs are composed quite well, so the fact that it took about 14 years to come with this riff may softened by this outcome. Its intensity works well and there are not too many remarks to make. Fans of bands like Before The Dawn will find themselves happy with “Splendours From The Dark”. Of course it is now also possible to get their debut album as well, which had a strong reputation as well.
