Melodic Death Metal formation Kill The Romance has its origin in Finland. The band started in 2004 and had their debut album out in 2007. After that no other releases came from their side until 2011 when their second full length “From Rome and The Throne” got out.
Interesting approach, these guys come with some prog influences through their sounds and a very subtle dose of keys surprises you here and there. This immediately shows that the band have chosen to give themselves a sound that is slightly different from what has been done before by various others and that suis them quite well as the first song already captures you interest.
But what are the main factors in this album are the guitars that come with quite a tempo and actually varies with it a lot to keep it interesting. Then there are the vocals that seem quite steady and show a diversity that makes the album even more interesting. The songs on the album seem to come out perfect, obviously the guys took their time to work them out quite well and in general the album sounds quite nice. “From Rome and The Throne” is a surprising album that steps away from the asphalt paths that are there in this genre. It is not running away too far, but a refreshing view on it makes it that you really want to have this album in your collection.
