03-10-2008 Rotersand

Supports: Angels & Agony; Venue: Bibelot, Dordrecht (Netherlands)
By: Elvira Visser

It was time for an electro themed evening at Bibelot. The support act this evening was Angels & Agony a Dutch band which was founded in the fall of 1995. The band create powerful and danceable songs.
Live, they bring their music on stage with a guitarist and drum pads, which adds to the experience. Singer Reinier Kahle is accompanied by the backing vocals of DJ Marco van Belle. The band had to attract the audience away from the bar, in which they succeeded. The audience started to dance on the electro tunes. Shortly into their set the sounds faded away. There was a little technical problem, but after solving this the band continued as nothing happened and enjoyed themselves on stage.

The party continued when Rotersand entered the stage. The crowd seem to like Angels & Agony but most of them were waiting for the Germans from Rotersand to perform. The music of Rotersand is not easy to describe, it has multiple influences from industrial, electro and even techno. This all creates very danceable tunes. The audience had become bigger and everyone seem to enjoy the band from the first tunes when EBM bass-lines found their way through the air. The band showed on-stage that they are very capable in what they were doing, playing a varied set with complete techno tracks to an emotional ballad. Singer Rascal Nikov seems to enjoy himself when he heard a guy growling in front of him. Pulling the guy on-stage while handing over the microphone. Rascal joins the crowd and start dancing. After the completion of the track by this guy, all the guys from the band were laughing and clearly enjoying the evening. When the band leaves the stage the crowd is making a lot of noise demanding the band to re-appear for an encore. The music seems to become louder and the audience is dancing like mad. Rascal showed during the entire set he cannot stand still and clearly knows how to entertain the people that came to watch them. When they leave, the audience is still not pleased, they want more. Sadly the guys stay away, but gather around the merchandise table to chat with their fans, this while the DJ from Bibelot was playing some more music people kept dancing.
