The Swedish band “Ghost” formed in 2006 in Linköping and started their path to popularity with “Opus Eponymous” in 2010. Since then the Swedes packed with four full-lengths releases. The dark formation decided to stream The Original Motion Picture with outstanding soundtrack two years after the last album. That’s how “Rite Here Rite Now” was presented worldwide on July 26 via Loma Vista Recordings.
“Rite Here Rite Now” is the concert film directed by Tobias Forge and Alex Ross Perry. The performative practice, which “Ghost” used at their shows, no doubt, made them popular in the west hemisphere. All the press kits contains bravados about awards-nominations and favor of the most known media.
So, what we actually have. The soundtrack includes 18 tracks. Recalculating this fact, we found over eighty minutes show, which is impressive for stand-alone gig. The vibe between performers and audience is harmonic. The response of the crowd varies from welcoming the band to recognizing the loved tracks. Obviously, there was the burst of emotions during Grammy-awarded “Cirice” in the middle of show and most popular “Square Hammer” as finale track.
This release is necessary step in every band’s history that fixed earned legacy. “Rite Here Rite Now” fits for inspecting “Ghost” mastery retrospectively. As for me, better see the live show than listen to the concerts through headphones. Leave it to the music itself.
