The Finnish Dawn of Solace is a project by Tuamas Saukkonen. Starting back in 2005 as a solo project next to his various other bands. For a while there was not other music than project Wolfheart but in 2020 there was a return of Dawn of Solace. This year another album gets released. It is called “Flames of Perdition” and it is available now.

As well as Dawn of Solace is Tuomas his project, vocalist Mikko Heikkilä is yet a key member in this release. Not only does his voice puts the dark and sombre stamp on the atmosphere but also in the promotional photo’s he is put in the spotlights. His impact is even more apparent than it was on “Waves”. The instrumental parts are almost all by Tuomas. An often calm and melancholic backing where the two of them strengthen each other.

This is not album that reveals itself right away. It grows on you as you listen to it more and thus you have to take your time to give it more spins. The essence is in the details and so you won’t regret your time in it.

As a bonus the songs ‘Lead Wings’ and ‘Dead Air’ are provided in an acoustic version. A beautiful match with this album which forms a logical follow up from “Waves” but also goes deeper than before.
