Releasedate: 14-01-2022 Label: Century Media Records
Belgian trio Wiegedood made name with their Black Metal since their formation in 2014. “De Doden Hebben Het Goed” and its follow up scored very well and anno 2022 the band is back with a new release. “There’s Always Blood At The End Of The Road” it is called and it is out now.
A couple things come to notice, an English title this time for example. But also soon after you start listening you realize the band has taken up the tempo a bit. The previous three albums form a trilogy and thus it is not completely unexpected they stray a bit from that. Going a bit more extreme, adding samples to it that make it even more chaotic than the trio already has going on.
“And In Old Salamano’s Room The Dog Whimpered Softly” is a good example of the powerful sound they can bring. It’s like there is no moment for taking it in, just going on so you better keep up with it. Listening to this album a couple of times before taking your judgement will certainly pay off. There is a lot to hear and putting some attention to the details will result in having the album grow on you immensely.
Wiegedood releases this thing in January but we can safely say that we will be listening this release throughout the year. When you liked their previous work then you have to know they took it up, simply a stunning Black Metal piece to enjoy.
