Dark – Inside The Void

The Swedish band Dark makes Gothic Rock. The first release saw light in 2015 and anno 2021 the band returns with a new release, an EP called “Inside The Void”.

With four new tracks coming out after a few years of silence the band is ready to show themselves from their most goth once again. In fact, when Dark was dark before they may have found an even darker shade if you look at this release. Starting off with the track “Finally Home” the guys are simply shutting the blinders and transfer you to the eerie side where a sense of melancholy reigns.

In the second track “One of Us” you start on a bit sad note, a harsh portion of words come by, surrounded by some mellow tones and instrumental furnishing of high design. Think in style of Asrai vs Sisters of Mercy. Straight after we get “Die Together” which has some catchiness going on, but the song that stands out most in this release is the closer “Memories”. You soon hear yourself humming along to this one. A bit gloomy track which would do well in the clubs.

Four tracks where fans of Goth Rock will find themselves happy with. If you like Sisters of Mercy, Asrai or The 69 Eyes you find yourself at ease with this new release by Dark. A great addition to your collection.
