Crocodile Shop , which was later shortened to simply Croc Shop, was originally founded in a flat above a record shop in Berlin Germany in 1987 by Mick Hale and Werner. The band, inspired by the “darker” post-punk sounds of Joy Division, New Order, Wire, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry and The Jesus and Mary Chain, released their debut album in 1988. Since then they have released quite some music. Until 2002. Then it grew quiet around Croc Shop. But now, they are finally back with brand new music.
This is their brand new and ninth full length studio album, which is called “Perpetual Sequence”. It comes with eleven songs and lasts for almost fifty minutes. Like a time travel back to the 80s, this music is reviving memories from way back when. Some sound samples remind of the movie “Tron” or even the TV series “Stranger Things”. With fast and thriving rhythms, Croc Shop is pulling you along and causing your muscles to twitch, if it won’t even get you dancing along.
You might not have heard of Croc Shop before, despite them having been active since 1987. But this album is worth a shot. So go ahead and check out the brand new release “Perpetual Sequence”.
