5x New – week 10

Finnish legendary melodic metal band Dark The Suns released a new single and music video ‘The Secrets of Time’ from their upcoming fourth studio album ‘Suru Raivosi Sydämeni Pimeydessä’ which is set to be released on April 9th 2021 via Inverse Records.
SKOLD is also proud to announce a brand new video for “Dirty Horizon,” another collaboration between SKOLD and filmmaker/award-winning music video director Vicente Cordero. The two had collaborated previously on the sweeping, cinematic video for “Small World” from SKOLD’s 2019 album Never Is Now as well as on two haunting videos for Not My God – SKOLD’s other project with Psyclon Nine’s Nero Bellum – “Fiction” and “Sowing Discord.” The “Dirty Horizon” video finds SKOLD paying homage to the legendary film by fellow Swede Ingmar Bergman, the 1957 epic “The Seventh Seal.” Shot in the stone dungeon of the stunning Abbey Arroyo, the video has SKOLD performing dual roles as both the medieval knight and the physical manifestation of Death to whom the knight confesses. The result is a visual masterpiece of religious imagery, dark foreboding and the ancient struggle for meaning and redemption in a wrathful, fallen world.
Video created by Rosco Levee and Rosalie Cunningham.
‘Number 149’ (and B side ‘Fossil Song’) will be available to stream and download on all good digital platforms from 12th March 2021.
Limited 7″ vinyl is available here while stocks last: https://rosaliecunningham.com/index.p…
With Mike Milaniak on guitar, Jason Blake on Warr guitar, and Tommy Murray on drums, AZIOLA CRY closes a nearly fourteen-year gap between records in 2021 with their third album, The Ironic Divide. Boasting their heaviest and most intricate work yet, the forty-eight-minute album features four songs which tell the story of one person’s final descent. There are two types of people in this world. There are those who do good for others and make a positive contribution to society in some way. Then, there are those who do evil and hurt fellow humans. There is no rationale behind their behavior. They are cowards. This is their story.
With a solid line-up and a new impact in terms of sound and image, resulting in a very modern and contemporary feeling, Vexillum are now proud to release their new album six years after the acclaimed metal opera “UNUM”. “When Good Men Go To War” takes the band and the listeners on a mystical voyage across the seas; the overall tone of every chapter is dark and vicious without renouncing to the band’s renowned northern-celtic folk melodies. The titletrack and its scream of anger is the epicentre of these tales, but the whole record is a masterpiece of heavy metal forged in fire, blood and steel. In ancient times, the vexillum was the battle flag for battalions: one of the signals of the battlefield under which each one was gathering to fight. It still stands for the honour, the courage and the heritage of whom brings it in all the eleven glorious songs of “When Good Men Go To War”!
