Neverdream is an Italian Progressive metal band. The band have been formed in 2000 and now releases their third full length album “Said”.
Progressive with some experimental side. Flirt a bit with A Perfect Circle as the words have a depressive impact somehow. The roots of this album comes from Africa. You hear djembés in the music and there is a story to be told. The Italians included quite some diversity in the album. Some jazzy elements, typical prog-rock, but also some darker sides gets touched. On the vocal side the diversity could have been taken even further than done now. This would definitely have increased the level of drama. Guitars do their job quite well, not standing out too much in the music, leaving space for drums to fill it up and let the keys be in a more prominent place every once and a while, but manage to avoid to get too dominating. Seems like the band got it all together quite well. A release that will please Progressive Metal fans a lot but will probably be liked on a wider level of audience as well. Quite nice release from these Italians, keep an eye on them.
