Releasedate: 2020
Spankraght is a Belgian duo making Industrial music. Influences are found in the names of Ministry, Fear Factory and such. The band released a new album this year. It is called “Thou Shalt Drown In The Blood Of Thy Children” and is available now.
The majority of the album is instrumental, but a variety of vocals are to be found in this release to spice it all up. In every song you can find something at least. The world is about to go down and this album is bringing you the story. Techno versus Metal in a combination that we have heard before, but brought with a bit of a twist. Just enough to keep you interested and give Spankraght a bit uniqueness.
But not all on this album is about doom, there is a certain catchiness in it that makes you want to move your body. “Carnivale” for example is a track that has a bit more light to it, where others are more dark. The variety in this album is high. Sometime it is more Metal and then you fall back to that Industrial side. The duo, however, has it all coming together though. It is not like you are constantly thrown back and forth and this speaks for the band.
Overall this “Thou Shalt Drown In The Blood Of Thy Children” is more interesting that one might think at first. It is an album that grows on you so you want to give it some extra spins.
