Thundermother – Heat Wave

Label: AFM Records
Releasedate: 31-07-2020

Thundermother gave life to the storm of wildness and madness by the name of Heat Wave. Actually, it’s the fourth album of Swedish all-female rock band.

Heat Wave contains 13 tracks that are optionally suitable with any kind of rock from 1970 to 1990. Since the starter Loud and alive any doubts about the band’s quality melts away and all you could focus on would be how good the sound is! The AC/DC vibes in Dog from Hell has its own dizzy effect. Heat wave is vibrant, energetic and suitable for the stadium mode with all the clapping and singing aloud by the crowd. The similar mark also goes to another solid track – Back in 1976-, and further to faster roaring Into the mud. Touching Purple Sky makes you wonder about all the shapes of rock ‘n’ roll; deep, thoughtful and soul tearing.

In general the album has well-measured tempo with only one exception – ballad Sleep with magic odor. Furthermore, the last mentioned tracks would be rebellious Free ourselves and Bad Habits, which fulfill the album in the name of bad-behaved rock ‘n’ roll.

All I can say is: The dozen tracks are nothing but passion mixed with power and a little fire. The Swedish “femmes métal” are on the right way.

Line up:

Filippa Nässil – Guitar
Guernica Mancini – Vocals
Emlee Johansson – Drums
Majsan Lindberg – Bass
