Supports: Findus; Venue: Nachtleben, Frankfurt (Germany)
By: Nina Mende
Tonight we were at Nachtleben, a little club in the center of Frankfurt. Two bands played here tonight, both German. The little club was crowded as we arrived. A sold out show on a Sunday night, thanks to Turbostaat.
The first band that played was called Findus. A German punk rock band, still young and singing in German. The audience was quite mixed but everybody enjoyed the fast and catchy tunes of the first band. Findus jumped around on the little stage and heated up the club within their 30 minutes show time. The lyrics were in German and taken out of life. Findus animated the audience to go along which they did. Clapping, dancing, singing, they did it all. Findus was thriving and energetic on stage, they seemed a little bit like a younger version of Turbostaat. |
Up next was Turbostaat. Founded in 1999 in Northern Germany Turbostaat they have released four albums up until now. Their music is all in German as well, thriving and energetic about reality and society, about politics and other important issues out of life wrapped in great lyrics that are not only getting stuck in your head but also make you think. The music of Turbostaat simply makes you go along. The band spreads an awesome atmosphere and feeling when performing on stage. Each one of the band members rocks out on stage and feels what he does, passionate and full-hearted they performed here in Frankfurt tonight. It was needless to ask the audience to go along or sing along, but the band still did. Turbostaat where overwhelmed by the awesome reaction of the audience. They rocked out on stage and never stood still, neither did the audience. Turbostaat played songs off all their albums and their fans could not only sing along to the hits, but to almost every song. It was an amazing night out with Turbostaat. They opened and closed with the song “Insel” which includes the line “Husum, Verdammt!” to which everyone shouted along. Nachtleben was heated up and everyone was sweating, cheering and having a good time. Audience and band was one big family. There was no distance and no gap. Turbostaat is an amazing live band you should definitely check out whenever you have the chance to. |
