Dperd – Regalerò Il Mio Tempo

Dperd is an Italian dark wave formation by Carlo Disimone and Valeria Buono. These two have been working together for quite some years already. They were both members of a band called “Fear of the Storm”. That band already had a release in 1995.

No surprise that this formation brings music which shows highly developed cooperation. Under the name of Dperd they had their first release in 2003.

The album I am reviewing is called “Regalerò Il Mio Tempo”. As the name of this album may suspect, the lyrics of the songs are all Italian. The lady in this musical duo takes care for some dark, almost doom vocals. Carlo is doing most of the instruments on the album. Although I don’t know a single word of Italian, the album sounds like one long story to me. The songs are all in the same style and atmosphere.
I had to think of Björk in a very sad mood.
The music is quite approachable and I can imagine myself listening to this album in different situations.
Overall, I can say this album is nice and very complete. There is not much I miss in this music. If I had to mention one point of critic on it, then probably that there is not really one song on it which is like the top of the mountain, but in this case this is not really a bad thing, it just belongs to be this way.
