Fateful Finality is a German formation making Thrash Metal. The band has been around since 2007 and anno 2019 they release a brand new album called “Executor”.
This band presents you a quite ‘in your face’
sound. It’s like everything comes at you at the same time. Massive
guitars are in a battle with the vocals which, with an occasional clean
voice , are also often trying to get that upfront spotlight position. It
feels like the details are getting a bit lost in the battle, sometimes
less is more.
With the cleaner approach it almost feels like they
take that melodeath vibe into it and have a modern edge to come to a
commercial sound with chart material ambitions. The songs on this
release are not too far from each other though. A bit more variation
would have kept us listening a bit longer.
“Executor” is not bad as a Fateful Finality release. The band seems to have an idea of how to set themselves apart, but the execution of that is yet to be refined. Something to work on, the band can grow into that.
For now you can enjoy the process, and discover the qualities that the band has but you need to take some time to listen to it a bit deeper.
