Crashdiet – Rust

Label: Frontiers Music srl
Releasedate:
13.09.2019

“Crashdiet” founded in 2000s and since then released four albums with three different singers. This autumn the band came back with the fifth record “Rust” and fourth lead-singer which matches perfectly.

The eleven tracks from thrilling “Rust” to sensual “Filth and flowers” mention two sentences “bring my 1980 back” and “bring my 2005 back”, time of raising glam and sleaze rock. The each track is as different as next. “We are the legion” was kickstarter, the announcement of band reunion. As companion of this idea could be “Rust”, the lyrics point, “like diamonds in the rough…we shine on the rust”. “Idiots” and “Crazy” are flashbacks from era of hairspray and odious-behavied rockers (video for “Idiots” will tell you more). The last track, which has its own video, is “Reptile”, dynamic, riffs-sliding and loud. The unexpected ballad “Waiting for your love” is heart-tearing (as it could be). “Stop weirding me out” is most unusual but powerful song with back-vocals, clapping and slapping.

The reach is dazzling epic, the tone addictively accessible. The truth is, “Crashdiet” as “Rest in sleaze” mode doesn’t exist and never will be. Now it’s mixing of all the hairy hits from 1980s. “Rust” is glamorous, stuffed with feelings. Well, nostalgia is also good feeling.
