Biffy Clyro is a Scottish rock band that formed in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire, composed of Simon Neil (guitar, lead vocals), James Johnston (bass, vocals) and Ben Johnston (drums, vocals). This is their eight studio album “Balance, Not Symmetry” which is also the soundtrack to a movie to which the singer wrote the script.
“Balance, Not Symmetry” comes with seventeen songs. The music on this album is very intense. Each track is telling a story and the melodies let you feel the moment it is talking about. Brilliant compositions meet amazing lyrics. Some songs have the typical Biffy Clyro sound, while others sound like background music to a movie scene – which is exactly what it is. Each song is bringing images to your head, picturing the story the singer is telling you. Even though this is a soundtrack, the balance between faster and slower songs – as well as melancholic and happy tunes – seems perfectly even.
“Balance, Not Symmetry” is an interesting piece by Biffy Clyro. Somehow experimental, but deep and intense in any way. This is an interesting release that makes us even more excited for the movie which will be out this summer. Until then, check out this brilliant album.
