10-02-2008 The Pleasures

Supports: Danger; Venue: Die Halle, Frankfurt (Germany)
By: Nina Mende

Finally the Pleasures made it to Frankfurt. They brought five nice guys from
Sweden, called Danger. And it was more than just a pleasure to see them all.

The evening began with Danger, a glam/sleaze-hard rock band, which has the influence from numbers of the 80s big named rock bands. Somewhere around August 2006 they got together with their new singer and started writing new songs.
I was really taken away by their style, not only because they fit to my pink dress but their whole appearance with the leopard printed tights, big hair, crazy make-up and every member’s personal skills on each one’s instruments.
About twenty gigs in five months came real fast. Four unsigned singles also came up in the period of September 06 to September 07… which they named ”Playin’ The Game” (2 tracks), ”Spread Your Legz” (2 tracks) ”California Red”, (3 tracks) and the latest one ”Shove it up your AZZ” (3 tracks). But I will tell you more about two of these in another review…Although the little venue was not that crowded, the audience enjoyed it and didn’t stay in the very back as they usually do. No, they stood right in
front of the stage, rocking with the five Swedish boys. Everybody had fun and danced along the great songs of the sleaze rock band.

Up next were The Pleasures, a glam rock band from Hamburg who have been trying to play in Frankfurt for quite some time. Now it finally worked out. They mostly played newer songs and Dancette (singer) came on stage with candle-like thingies in his gloves… I couldn’t really see what it was exactly, but something like that. They performed a great show, as usual. The audience was amazed. The Pleasures played for about an hour, involving the audience whenever and wherever they could; making them sing, shout and dance along and just had a great time on stage and off stage. Yes, even off stage: from time to time they tended to  leave the stage and walk around in the audience. That is what I call a really nice band, down to earth and always in touch with their fans.I am really looking forward to see both of the bands again, hopefully soon!!!
