Singer Songwriter Delise is releasing a first album called “Bladzijde 1” and organized a releaseparty to celebrate. Tempelores was there to witness.
Not just a stage to take, no an actual theater was the location for this event. The perfect place giving a warm ambiance to the music that Delise makes. The eveninghost Hans van Vuuren introduces us and some songs are played. She does not appear alone but throughout the performance several friends joined the stage to perform which makes the whole more dynamic. From cello musicians, to dancers and some rap even, an interesting playfield from begin to the end.
The songs are mainly Dutch ones, as the album has only Dutch songs on it, but later we heard some English tracks passing by as well. However, the songs that gain most spotlights are “Klein Zusje” and “Schuil Bij Mij” which are daring and direct. A story that speaks to you and you could either relate to or place it in clear context with the rest. With the guitar Delise strengthens the songs, something that not every songwriter can balance out in this way. Too often we see it’s one of these aspects standing out, but the balance is there.
Between the songs Delise tells a bit about herself as an artist and where the songs come from and connects with the audience this way. Also, a videoclip got released during the show followed by a guestperformance of an artist named Matthijn.
When Delise returns after that we have a couple of more songs to discover ending by some songs where she plays keyboard also. An encore is given to an audience which gives a standing ovation and then the whole is over.
“Bladzijde 1” is out now, full of these songs of warmhearted Delise. It is available via her webshop.
