Deadline – Bring Down The House

Releasedate: 12-03-2010; Label: People Like You Records
By: Nina Mende

Deadline is a London-based, female-fronted, street punk band. The band was formed in 2001. Currently signed to People Like You Records (Germany). Their latest album is called “Bring Down The House”.

The new album is rocking in an oldies style. Thriving and catchy this album gets you off the couch and on straight on the dance floor boogying along. Fronted by a rocking female, Deadline kicks ass throughout all 13 songs. Even before each song is over you are able to sing along. “Two Heads” sounds like a summer Island Reggae Punk piece. On this album you have western. Rockabilly and punk all mixed together to a great sound. Even though “These Boots Are Made For Walking” is a cover, it fits perfectly well to the rest of the album. On some songs you can hear an outstanding bass. “Thorn In My Side” is a slow song accompanied by acoustic guitar with very touchy vocals. This one is also about the only slow song on the album. All the other ones are faster and more to jump around to.

“Bring Down The House” is a great piece of punk music. These Brits made a wonderful new album for all the punk fans out there.
