The French formation Aldaaron came together in 2004. After releasing one demo, it is now time to release their debut full length album “Nous Reviendrons Immortels” via Paragon Records.
The album of the French Pagan Black Metal band comes in quite melodic. The band aims for going into the old school way and certainly catches this. This also brings to the point that they are far, and then I mean really far, from being original. I could not really find an own face on this record and I had the idea that these riffs were way too familiar.
One thing that does make it interesting is the use of French, a language that is maybe less common used than English, but suits the genre perfectly which is once again proven by this band. Then again, the vocals are not so various or brilliant, a bit too flat. Conclusion of this is that the band delivered an album that is perfectly listenable for fans of the genre, but does not add anything of their own. It doesn’t rise above the average and therefore it is not winner this time. If the band releases their grip on the familiar feeling of their influences and start doing their own thing there is a potential for them.
