28-12-2007 Private Line

Date: 28-12-2007; Nosturi Helsinki (Helsinki)

Actually I never answer the question “Who is your favorite band?”
because I don’t really have one, I like all good bands and all good music. But
maybe I should consider that sometimes Private Line would be a good answer for
me. I have seen them quite many times live by now and I always love it and want
the gigs to go on forever. I would not say I’m a fan of them, but I really like
their music and try catching them live whenever I can.

Private Line is a band from Helsinki/Finland. They have released two albums so far, more to come for sure.

So there I was at the Private Line show at Nosturi in Helsinki. There were actually three bands playing that night: Dirty Licks, Hybrid Children and Private Line as headliner. But I was meeting up with friends before, so I missed out on seeing Dirty Licks. I only saw half of Hybrid Children, not because I was late, no, actually they were running late. But because I was seeing many friends at Nosturi and went to talk with them. So I only saw half of Hybrid Children, and that not even very attentively, so I rather not judge them or say much about their show. From what I realized: it was nice and I’ll probably catch them live
  again elsewhere.

Now it was time for Private Line, and I was jumping downstairs to the photo
pit, because I only had three songs time to take good pictures from down there.
Private Line started out rocking as usual and all the girls in the audience
started screaming, almost squeaking like little pigs, as Sammy (singer) came
on stage. Somehow I immediately realized that the guys were totally happy —
maybe to be back on stage, maybe that Christmas is finally over, or something
else — because they were smiling and laughing, joking and making fun all the
time during the gig. That was really nice to see and the audience really enjoyed
it as well. Every once in a while Jack (guitar) was sitting down on stage and
playing while sitting. The music of Private Line is very powerful and they were
playing with such a passion that you can’t stand still and just watch, you have
to interact. Whether it’s singing along, dancing, jumping or clapping. Everybody
did something and so the whole Nosturi was following Private Line with everything
  they did.
After about an hour they were done playing but we wanted more. So a special
guest entered the stage for one song to sing instead of Sammy: Sir Christus,
the guitar player from the Finnish band Negative! Now all the girls in the front
row went totally crazy. That one song he was singing felt so long, maybe it
were even two, but it still felt like an eternity. Finally Sammy came back on
stage to sing one final song and then that was it. The show was over. A really
  great show!!!
