The first that that suppose to play was Magnacult from the Netherlands that have been touring a lot the last years, for example with Ill Niño, but it seemed to be that the first band to hit the stage was Malefice from the United Kingdom.

The most brutal band of the evening. This British band has only a handful of people to entertain. Nonetheless they put a lot of effort in their performance to get everyone moving. The band was formed in Reading, Berkshire in 2003 when vocalist Dale Butler, guitarists Ben Symons and Alex Vuskans, bassist Tom Hynes and drummer Craig Thomas went about crafting the sound that Malefice would bring to the world. Their music has a little brutal edge combined with a nice tempo which made the audience nod their head and few moshing. Near the end of their set more people has entered the venue and found their way to the stage. Getting the crowd ready for the other bands with their nice groove. Too bad they played quite early on the evening, because they were appreciated by the people that were there early enough the witness them.

Second band up tonight came from Buffalo, New York. A band that was a nice surprise. What an energy on stage….all were walking around and moving all the the time. One of those bands where an extra pair of eyes would have been handy. In the spring of 2009 they have released their latest album “Lividity” and for this album they found a new singer in Jason Wood. A singer who can take are of the more brutal but also the nice clean vocals. The vocal lines make their sound very catchy but it still rocks good enough. A nice balance between the more raw of metal and the more sweet clean vocals. Anyway it works, and it works well. A band that with their energy and stage presence go the crowd in front of the stage. More and more people were entering the venue and at the end of their set It Dies Today demanded a circle pit and they got one. A very good show from these Buffalo guys got the crowd ready for the headliner of this evening.

It was time for Kittie. Kittie from London, Ontario. The female metal band that has released their fifth album last September and now touring to promote their album “In The Black”. Since the first record the line up has been changing around every album. Now more brutal then ever, besides that their playing skills have grown as well. At this time they tour the world with 4 girls. On stage they are girls that kick ass, showing their self esteem and showing they know how to play metal. Their tracks can be brutal with the grunting Morgan Lander. Not many females are capable of what she shows on stage. Kittie has a sound with heavy riffs and dark lyrics. When the first tracks are played the venue is filled. Clearly many people came to see these girls. The atmosphere is nice in the venue and the audience is cheering the girls left a good impression and showed that girls can play brutal as well. The kitties has shown their claws tonight.
