Morudes – Sinister Beat

Two Norwegian brothers formed a band called Morudes. They have been playing together for many years and with Morudes they stepped a bit aside from the blues they have played for many years and focus more on an alternative sound. Their album “Sinister Beat” is out now.

Sure the blues ain’t put out of it for all, but the knowing that they have this background it is good to see they really did step away from it as they saying us, how often we see that different. Think a bit psychedelic, a bit stoner and post rock vibes, but they guys have a clear view on it all. A signature of themselves is on it, our salutes to that, which contains an interesting blend of raunchy guitars, interesting melodies and a field of tension that entertains wildly. The brothers have managed to give this album the feel that it has when you would be seeing it live in a cozy, crowded club. It is energetic enough to keep that feel.

Throughout the album they have plenty variations, but in the long end it all comes together, started “A House Where Love is Gone” is as hypnotic as the closer “Never Ever”. Different, but totally suiting along with the feel.

If we have to find something to remark then it would be us wondering if they could make it even more thick without the loose of the details, making it heavier and heavier. Perhaps we’ll see what comes from that in future release, but this “Sinister Beat” is already one to enjoy deeply.
